We decided to take a leap of faith and purchase our dream home. The perfect home - almost. It is a flooded home from the Sept 2017 Hurricane Harvey flood and it took in almost 5 feet of water. We are considering this an opportunity. The home was owned by its original owners who designed the home in 1988. We have been looking at homes for YEARS - waiting for the "right" one to come along. Each one would require us to compromise in some aspect or another. This particular one had the location and layout that was just ideal. Why did it have to flood? Then again, had it not flooded and been sold during the "normal" times, we wouldn't have been able to afford it. We have started talking to contractors and have a long way to go before we can move in, but we are aiming for May 2018.
